CHRIST THE REALITY OF ALL

First of all, I would ask you to realize that according to the Scriptures all physical things, all the material things that we see, touch, and enjoy, are not the real things. They are but a shadow, a figure of the true. Day by day we are contacting so many material objects: we are eating food, drinking water, putting on clothes; we are living in our houses and driving in our cars. I would ask you to realize and remember well that all these things are not real. They are but shadow, figures. The food we take every day is not the real food, but a figure of the real. The water we drink is not the real water. The light before our eyes is not the real light, but a figure pointing to something else.

   Then, what are the real things? Brothers and sisters, I would by the grace of God tell you in truth that the real things are nothing but Christ Himself. Christ is the real food to us. Christ is the real water to us. Christ is the real light to us. Christ is the reality of everything to us. Even our physical life is not a real life. It is but a figure pointing to Christ. Christ is the real life to us. If you don't have Christ, you don't have life. You will say, "I am living; I have life in my body!" But you must realize that this is not the real life. It is merely a shadow pointing to the real life which is Christ Himself.

만유의 실제이신 그리스도

성경 말씀에 의하면 우리가 보고, 만지고, 즐기는 모든 육신적인것들, 모든 물질적인 것들은 실제가 아니다. 여러분은 무엇보다도 먼저 이것을 깨달아야 한다. 그것들은 단지 실제의 그림자요, 그림일 뿐이다. 우리는 날마다 많은 물질적인 것들을 접촉하고 있다. 음식을 먹고, 물을 마시며, 의복을 입는다. 주택에서 거주하며 자동차도 몰고 다닌다. 그러나 이 모든 것들은 실제가 아니라는 것을 명심하기 바란다. 그것들은 오직 그림자요, 그림일 뿐이다. 우리가 날마다 먹는 음식은 참 양식이 아니고, 참된 음식의 그림일 뿐이다. 우리가 마시는 물도 참된 물이 아니다. 우리 눈 앞의 빛도 참 빛이 아니라 다른 어떤 것을 가리키는 형체인 것이다.

그러면, 실제는 무엇인가? 형제 자매들이여, 실제는 오직 그리스도 자신뿐이다. 그리스도가 우리의 참된 음식이다. 그리스도가 우리의 참된 음료이다. 그리스도가 우리의 참 빛이다. 그리스도는 우리에게 모든 것의 실제가 되신다. 우리의 육신적인 생명까지도 참 생명이 아니다. 그것은 단지 그리스도를 가리키는 하나의 그림일 뿐이다. 그리스도만 우리에게 참 생명(生命)이 되신다. 당신에게 그리스도가 없다면 당신은 생명이 없는 것이다. 당신은, 『나는 살아 있다. 내 몸 속에는 생명이 있다 ! 』고 말할 것이다. 그러나 그것은 실제의 생명이 아님을 깨달아야 한다. 그것은 단지 그리스도 자신인 참 생명을 가리키는 하나의 그림자일 뿐이다.
